Greetings, humans! Tom the Turkey, here to offer you an insider’s view of South Lake Tahoe in November – one of my favorite places to lay low during this… uh… turbulent time of year. You see, while many of you are dusting off your stretchy pants and making cranberry sauce, we turkeys are on high alert. But as an expert escape artist and a connoisseur of Lake Tahoe, I’m here to share the best spots, scenes, and activities you can enjoy without tracking me down for dinner. So grab your binoculars (not that you'll need them!), and let’s talk Turkey!
Pre-Ski Shenanigans: Watching Humans Prepare for the Slopes
Now, I can’t exactly ski (I mean, wings, not arms, people), but watching humans dust off their skis and snowboards for the upcoming winter is a delight. Heavenly and Northstar Resorts start buzzing in November, prepping for ski season.
Resort Opening Dates:
Heavenly Mountain Resort - (Brings out the snow machines) Friday November 22nd
Kirkwood Mountain Resort (A Turkey Favorite) - Friday December 6th
Sierra-at-Tahoe (A short drive for less crowds) Targeting Friday November 29th

South Lake Tahoe In November Hiking Trails: Prime Places to Blend in (and People-Watch)
Some of the best hiking trails are wide open this time of year, and it’s prime leaf-peeping season. As a Turkey of Class, I’m a big fan of the golden-yellow and fiery orange trees – and hiking the trails in fall offers a quiet beauty that lets you reconnect with nature. You might even catch sight of me and my feathered friends, though we’re pretty quick to duck into the brush.
Grab your boots, bring a snack (again, not turkey-related, please!), and make your way along paths like Eagle Lake Trail, which is full of scenic hideaways and great views. Just keep your eyes peeled – us turkeys are experts in camouflage!
Jo Koy Live in Lake Tahoe: A Turkey’s Perspective on Comedy Night
That’s right, Lake Tahoe is getting its laugh on, and let me tell you, Jo Koy is one funny human. I mean, if I weren’t busy dodging dinner invites, I’d be front row and center with my feathers fluffed, ready to laugh my beak off!
Let’s face it, November is a stressful time for us turkeys. While you're all buzzing with holiday excitement, we’re just trying to stay out of sight. And that’s exactly why Jo Koy’s comedy night is the perfect distraction – nothing says “relief” like laughing so hard you forget all your worries. Trust me, Jo’s humor is top-notch.

So there you have it – a turkey-approved, gobble-worthy guide to experiencing Lake Tahoe in November. It's a month of feasting (but kindly, leave us out of it), fantastic scenery, and endless activities that let you soak in the splendor of the season. Just remember, if you see a particularly good-looking turkey wandering around, maybe just give a nod and keep moving along.
Happy Thanksgiving, humans – and may your Tahoe adventures be filled with everything but me! 🦃
